After service, we’re taking the party outside for an epic water balloon fight—so come ready to get soaked.

Join us for a one-hour, no-pressure opportunity to learn more about how we can care for vulnerable kids and families in our community.

We’ll be hosting a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Info Meeting with representatives from Sacramento & El Dorado Hills. During this time, you’ll hear what CASA is, how it impacts foster youth, and simple ways you can be involved—whether that’s becoming a CASA or supporting the foster care community in other meaningful ways.

What is a CASA?
A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a trained volunteer who is appointed by a judge to advocate for a child in foster care. CASAs get to know the child, speak into their needs, and help ensure they are seen, heard, and supported as decisions are being made about their future.

This is a great next step if you’ve been curious about foster care or want to better understand how to make a difference locally. There’s no expectation to commit—just come, learn, and explore.

Join the Hiking Group for our first hike of the season. We will be hiking the loop around Jenkinson Lake at Sly Park in Pollock Pines—an 8.3 mile hike with rolling terrain. The hike is usually completed in about 3 hours.

What to bring: Bring a snack and a couple bottles of water or sports drink. Check the Pollock Pines weather on the morning of the hike to see what clothing layers are appropriate, and of course good boots or shoes for hiking on a hilly trail are a must.

Transportation: We will carpool for this hike. When signing up, please let us know if you are willing to drive. It’s about a 45-minute drive to the trailhead, and there is a $5 parking fee (cash only). We’ll meet at the front parking lot of Lakeside at 7am.

Who can attend: All are welcome who are reasonably fit (can hike 8+ miles at a pace of at least 3 MPH). We cap our hikes at 12 people, so sign up ASAP.

Join us on May 3 for a special Star Wars Night at High School Ministry! Students are invited to come dressed as their favorite Star Wars character and enjoy a night filled with themed games, fun, and snacks. There will also be worship, a message, and more. It’s a great opportunity to bring friends and be part of an unforgettable night. HSM meets at 6:00pm in The Block.

Current 8th graders are invited to visit HSM on May 3 to get a preview of what’s coming as they move into High School! Students can expect plenty of hangout time, games, worship, and a message that connects to their lives. No registration is required.

Fifth graders are invited to come check out our Sunday MSM gathering on May 3 and see what MSM is all about before promoting on May 31. Check in to Lakeside Kids as usual, and then we’ll head to MSM together.

Young adult women, join us for Craft Night! We’ll enjoy a comfy and cozy night in making bookmarks and keychains—with snacks and drinks provided and plenty of time to hang out together.

Feel free to bring any other craft you enjoy or would like to share. Whether you’re crafty or just want to connect, we’d love to have you there!

Join us for a Young Adult Men’s Night at X-Golf in El Dorado Town Center. It'll be a great night of hanging out with the guys, trying out your swing on the golf simulator, and enjoying some pizza together.

If you have your own golf clubs, please bring them—otherwise, we’ll have two sets available for the group to share. We’d love to see you there!

We have a heart for supporting those in need within the foster care system and are partnering this month with The Alliance—an organization that exists to come alongside foster and adoptive families with practical support, encouragement, and advocacy. Let’s show some love to families in need and young adults aging out of foster care by purchasing household essentials.

Are you interested in learning more about our Special Needs Ministry and how you can serve? Or are you currently serving in Kids or Student Ministry and would love additional training and encouragement?

If you answered yes to either of those questions — this training is for you!

During this one-hour training, we’ll share more about the heart and vision of Special Needs Ministry at Lakeside. We’ll also spend time walking through practical training and helpful tips you can immediately apply when supporting children, teens, and young adults with special needs.

If you’re newer to Lakeside or wanting to learn more about who we are, Heart of Lakeside is for you.

This gathering is a chance to hear directly from our lead pastor about what makes Lakeside, Lakeside—what we’re passionate about, the mission we believe God has uniquely called us to, and the heart behind why we do what we do.

While we’ll touch on what we believe, this time is really about understanding the culture and calling of our church. It’s a great next step for anyone exploring faith, looking for a church home, or wanting to get more connected.

We’ll meet during the 11:15 service, and we’ll have some light bites and refreshments available.

Tuesdays, April 14-May 26: 6:30-8pm

Following Jesus is a beautiful and crazy journey. We are here to equip you with tools to help you along your journey. Through this Foundations seven-week study group, we'll learn about the basics of the Bible and provide a roadmap to help you engage in Scriptures and grow in your faith. We'll also explore tools for building a healthy devotional life and discover fresh ways to engage with Jesus. You will find a safe place here to ask questions while also growing in a community. (Childcare is available.)

Students ages 13 and up are invited to help rebuild the iconic Castle Park in Folsom! Our group will be serving on April 9 from 1–5pm. Volunteers may assist with construction using tools, or help with food service, logistics, and tool distribution.

Located in the Willow Creek Estates South neighborhood, just south of Oak Chan Elementary School, Castle Park has been inspiring imagination and adventure since 1996. Designed by Robert Leathers and originally built by community volunteers nearly 30 years ago, it has been a place where generations of families have come to play.

Now, after decades of use, the original wooden play structures are ready to be replaced. The City of Folsom is building a new playground that will honor the original footprint and magical spirit of Castle Park. Just like the first build, this new chapter will come to life through the help of the community.

Young Adults! You’re invited to a Young Adult Dinner Party — a night to slow down, share a great meal, and build real community. Whether you’ve been around for a while or you’re brand new, this is a space to connect, laugh, and enjoy meaningful conversation around the table.

Dinner will be provided, so just come hungry and ready to hang out. If you’d like, you’re welcome to bring a soft drink or dessert to share, but it’s completely optional.

Dedicating your child to God is a meaningful public expression of parents’ desire to partner with God and the church in raising their child to know, love, and follow Jesus. Child dedications also invite our Lakeside church family to partner with parents through prayer, encouragement, and ongoing support.

Child Dedication occurs twice a year during our Sunday services and are geared for parents who wish to dedicate kids from infancy-age 5. Please fill out the interest form, and our Children’s Ministry Pastor will reach out to you with information about our upcoming Child Dedications on Sunday, March 22.

Every 2nd Sunday at MSM is a party—and you’re invited!

Join us for high-energy games, a message that connects to real life, and breakout groups where you can grow with friends. After the gathering, stick around for free food and free time in The Block. We’ll have video games, basketball, 9-square, Spikeball, board games, and more. It’s the perfect mix of fun, community, and faith—all in one morning.

2nd Sunday takes place during our Middle School Ministry gathering at 11:15am. Make plans to be there—we can’t wait to see you!

Tuesdays, Jan 20-March 3: 6:30-8pm
We weren’t meant to follow Jesus alone. Women especially flourish when we grow together, encourage one another, and sharpen one another.  We'll gather together on Tuesday evenings as one large group before moving into smaller table communities for meaningful discussion, prayer, and learning.

Winter/Spring Session 2026

This season we will be studying transformation—learning how Jesus transformed lives of women in the Bible, how He is still doing so today, and why it matters. You will be encouraged by both God's Word and the stories of some of our own Lakeside women. Over seven weeks, you’ll gain practical tools to:

• Deepen your relationship with God

• Root yourself in Scripture so you can be steady in any season

• Pray with and for others in a way that strengthens both you and them

• Build spiritual friendships that last

Women of all ages are welcome—whether you’re just starting to explore faith or you’ve been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to grow, to invest, and to leave better equipped for wherever God has placed you. (Childcare is available; pre-register upon registration for the group.)

High Schoolers - Join us for Dodge the Dark—a glow-in-the-dark dodgeball night packed with fun, friends, and flying neon dodgeballs. We’ll have pizza and nonstop action under the blacklights.

One of the most memorable nights of the year is almost here and it’s gonna be a blast from the past with some 80’s flair! Grab your leg warmers and come dance the night away with your daughter, granddaughter, or a special little girl in your life. A live DJ will be spinning feel-good tunes to keep the dance floor hopping all night long! We’ll also enjoy snacks and sweet treats, fun crafts, and some rad dance-floor competitions.

Invite your friends and get ready to make memories—this is one party you won’t want to miss!

Things to Know:
-This event is geared for girls 4-years-old through 8th grade.
-Our dance floor will open promptly at 6:30pm, but our photo booth in the Lobby will open at 6:15pm.
-Cost: $30 per couple, $10 each additional child.
-We are unable to process any refunds due to cancellations after Saturday, Feb. 14.

Young Adults are invited to come together for a relaxed night of community and fun. We’ll hang out, enjoy an awesome movie, and share plenty of popcorn, candy, and snacks. Registration helps cover all the movie-night treats—just show up, grab a snack, and settle in for a great night together.

It’s time for our Winter Hike to Avery Pond in the Newcastle/Loomis area. This out-and-back hike has rolling terrain, some nice views, and some varied vegetation along the trail.

TRAIL INFO: We will be hiking to Avery Pond on the “Pioneer Express Trail” along the upper reaches of Folsom Lake. The hike is an out-and-back, about 10 miles roundtrip, with rolling hills and several good climbs. You should be an experienced hiker and in good shape to join us on this hike. Click here for more information. (Note that we’ll be starting from the Sterling Point Equestrian Trailhead.)

TIME/TRANSPORTATION: Meet at Lakeside at 7am to carpool to the trailhead.
