About Lakeside Church
Lakeside Church, located in Folsom, CA, was founded in 1987 with a deep desire to be an outward-facing, Jesus-centered community. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of gospel vitality in our region. In the fall of 2023, Lakeside entered a significant moment in its story with the transition to its second Lead Pastor. After the retirement of our founding pastor, Brian Becker was prayerfully selected to lead Lakeside into its next season of ministry.
Over the past two years, our church has experienced dynamic growth, renewed excitement, and increasing influence in our community. We are passionately living out our mission of helping everyone follow Jesus by loving everyone like Jesus, and we hold great expectations for the future—including a 3-year vision to fully remodel our facilities and maximize ministry impact across our 26-acre campus.
We currently welcome approximately 1,500 people each Sunday across three morning services, including additional gatherings for Middle School on Sunday mornings and High School on Sunday evenings. Our staff team consists of about 20 dedicated leaders, and we are seeking the right Music Director to help our church continue thriving in this exciting new season.
Position Overview
The Music Director (MD) is a vital member of the Creative Arts Team and works closely with the Creative Arts Pastor. This person helps lead the worship music ministry at Lakeside, oversees musicians, and supports various needs in the Creative Arts Department. The role requires strong musical skill and knowledge, leadership, and relational strengths that foster a deeply connected team—one that loves serving together and strives to create a Spirit-led, engaging, and excellent worship experience
Job Specifics
This is a full-time position.
Salary is based on experience and abilities; salary range and benefits will be discussed during initial phone interview.
The Music Director reports to our Creative Arts Pastor, Jonathan Soto, and is a vital member of the Creative Arts Team, currently consisting of 2 FT Pastors, 1PT Assistant, and dozens of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Music Proficiencies, Leadership & Team Development
Thorough knowledge of basic instruments: keyboard, guitar, piano, bass, and drums.
Understanding of arranging instrumentation within a modern worship setting.
Proficient musicianship on at least one primary lead instrument (guitar or piano).
Understanding of each instrument and ability to arrange them cohesively.
Proficient with at least one DAW (Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, etc).
Leadership and scheduling for musicians regarding all music-related matters.
Building of volunteer teams—identifying gifts, developing skills, and nurturing long-term engagement.
Collaboration & Planning
Assist and collaborate with the Creative Arts Pastor on song selections and setlists across venues.
Collaborate with the Creative Arts Pastor and team on special events, projects, holidays, and other duties as assigned.
Music Production & Technical Oversight
Produce new tracks and Ableton sessions for all venues and gatherings.
Maintain and manage all musical instruments and equipment.
Oversee Lakeside’s campus-wide worship licensing, including CCLI payments, reporting, and renewals.
Maintain and oversee Planning Center Services, including song files (chord charts, MP3s, etc.), personnel, tags, gatherings, and folders.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
Strong organizational, creative, and administrative abilities.
A relational, approachable “people person” with excellent communication skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and carry projects through to completion.
Ability to problem solve and think quickly in fast-paced environments.
Self-disciplined, motivated, and able to stay focused on tasks.
Not Required but Beneficial
Ability to lead worship vocally and with strong stage presence.
AVL experience and proficiency.

Social Media Manager
We are looking for a skilled and creative Social Media Manager to help us share the story of what God is doing in and through our community. This part-time role is ideal for someone who loves blending creativity with strategy, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has the ability to both create compelling content (photo + video) and manage social media platforms with excellence.
You’ll be responsible for creating and posting content across multiple platforms, leading day-to-day social storytelling, capturing live moments, and helping develop strategies that move our mission forward: helping everyone follow Jesus by loving everyone like Jesus.

Childcare Team
We are hiring staff to join our childcare team! Childcare team members provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, along with a warm welcome to parents and guests. The ideal candidate loves kids, has experience in childcare settings, demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, and is dependable, loving, and helpful.
($16.50 an hour)
