Beyond is a defining three-year chapter in the life of Lakeside Church where we step forward with courageous faith and joyful generosity in pursuit of gospel vitality for generations to come.

This initiative will enable us to:

• Revitalize our campus from the inside out (Beyond Yesterday)

• Strengthen and expand ministry impact (Beyond Buildings)

• Increase the connection and support of local and global partners (Beyond Lakeside)

Beyond is about far more than buildings. It is about creating environments and ministries where future generations can encounter Jesus, families can flourish, and our church can continue making a lasting impact in Folsom and beyond.

We thank God for our beautiful history, and we believe He is calling us toward a bright future.

We believe Lakeside is in a unique and providential moment.

HEALTHY CHURCH: God has graciously brought Lakeside through a healthy pastoral transition while continuing to provide sustained growth, increase spiritual momentum, provide financial provision, and cultivate remarkable faith and generosity within our congregation. In many ways, we believe God has been preparing us for this season.

CHURCH LIFE CYCLE: After nearly four decades of ministry, our church is at a critical stage where the decisions we make today will have an exponential impact on future generations. We are not too early, and we do not believe we are too late. We believe this is the season to move forward with faith and wisdom.

GENERATIONAL OPPORTUNITY: We recognize that future generations may face very different cultural, economic, and technological realities than we do today. Rather than assuming another opportunity will come later, we believe now is the time to faithfully steward the opportunity God has placed before us while we have the health, momentum, and capacity to do so.

CITY GROWTH: At the same time, our city continues to grow rapidly. As new families arrive in Folsom, we have the opportunity and responsibility to steward our campus and ministries in a way that prepares us to welcome, serve, and disciple them well.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION: Most importantly, Beyond is not simply about buildings. Seasons like this often become catalysts for spiritual formation, deeper surrender, and greater trust in God. We believe this initiative is an opportunity for our entire church family to grow spiritually as we pursue together what God is calling us toward.

The easiest thing would be to do nothing. But we believe God is inviting us to courageously steward this chapter for generations to come.

Because this is much more than an informational meeting—it will be a defining moment in the life of our church.

Vision Night is where the entire Beyond vision comes to life. Together, we'll celebrate what God has already done, look ahead to what He is calling us to accomplish over the next three years, and experience the vision in a way that simply can't be captured on a Sunday morning or on this landing page.

This will be an unforgettable evening for the whole family, with food, fire pits, bounce houses, activities for kids of all ages, inspiring stories, and a first look at everything Beyond will accomplish over the next three years.

We believe Vision Night will become one of those moments people remember years from now—not because of an event but because it marked the beginning of what God did through Beyond. We don't want anyone to miss being part of it.

To make it as easy as possible for everyone to attend, we're offering two identical Vision Nights. Simply choose the evening that works best for your family.

• Sun, Sept 13: 5-7pm

• Fri, Sept 25: 6-8pm

Beyond is a three-year vision initiative that will be funded through a combination of sacrificial generosity and the wise stewardship of existing assets.

To accomplish the Beyond vision, we are trusting God to provide:

• $6–$7 million through the sale of a portion of our unused property.

• $7–$8 million in gifts above and beyond our regular giving over the next three years through the Beyond initiative.

Together, these resources will help fund campus renewal, expanded ministry impact, and increased local and global outreach for generations to come.

Every aspect of Beyond is being approached with careful planning, financial wisdom, phased execution, and long-term sustainability in mind. This funding approach allows us to pursue the full three-year vision while maintaining long-term financial sustainability.

This plan was developed with the guidance of experienced financial advisors, ministry consultants, architects, and church leaders who understand long-term sustainability and responsible capital planning.

The initiative is built on realistic giving projections, conservative financial assumptions, phased construction planning, and careful stewardship. In addition, the potential sale of our unused property provides significant margin and flexibility.

Our goal is not simply to build something impressive. Our goal is to move forward responsibly, faithfully, and sustainably while positioning Lakeside for long-term ministry impact.

We believe God entrusted us with our property to steward wisely. After owning approximately six acres of vacant land on the corner of our campus for twenty-five years, we believe now is the right time to use its value to strengthen ministry, renew our campus, expand our impact, and help position Lakeside to serve generations to come.

As a result, we have sold approximately six acres of vacant land to the City of Folsom. After receiving 12 offers, we chose the City because we believe it is the best partner for both responsible stewardship of the property and the long-term good of our community. The City is able to take a broader and more patient approach to the property, including holding the land while important infrastructure needs are addressed.

It is also important to understand how the purchase is being funded. The City is using designated Housing Fund/Housing Trust Fund resources—not the General Fund. These funds are specifically designated for affordable housing purposes and are not funds that would otherwise be used for normal City operations such as police, fire, parks, or recreation.

As for what may eventually be built, student housing is the leading possibility currently being explored. This could create a more affordable housing option for people pursuing higher education—something not currently available in this area at meaningful scale.

We see this as an opportunity for the property to continue serving our community in a new way, while allowing Lakeside to invest its value directly into ministry and into the future of our campus.

More than twenty-five years ago, Lakeside was entrusted with a portion of land to be used for future ministry. Rather than rushing to act, our church chose to steward this gift patiently, waiting until a clear, necessary, and God-honoring opportunity emerged.

We now believe that time has come.

By selling this unused property, we are wisely using what God has already entrusted to us to fund ministry expansion and campus renewal that will serve people for generations to come.

This decision allows us to:

• Maximize existing resources.

• Reduce financial pressure on our church family.

• Invest directly into ministry and campus renewal.

We held the land in patience. Now we release it with purpose.

Construction will take place in carefully planned phases designed to minimize disruption while allowing ministry to continue throughout the process.

As plans continue to develop, we'll provide regular updates and timelines to the church family along the way.

While final timelines depend on city approvals, financial benchmarks, and construction planning, our current goal is:

• Nov. 2026: Construction of new maintenance building.

• Jan. 2027: Renovations to building exterior, landscaping, and outdoor spaces.

• Spring - Dec. 2027: Interior renovations.

• Jan. - May 2028: Renovations to The Block.

As God continues to bring new life to Lakeside, we’re preparing spaces to serve generations ahead, renewing, our campus from the inside out with welcoming, beautiful, and functional environments where people can encounter Jesus, build community and grow in faith.

Renovations include modernizing our main auditorium and increasing seating capacity; bringing Lakeside Kids into the main building with reimagined spaces and enhanced security; refreshing exterior architecture and landscaping; adding play and gathering spaces, including an amphitheater and shaded patio; transforming The Block to include a dedicted home for students upstairs, renewing The Block basement as a multi-purpose venue, and moving staff office spaces to The Block.

Pray. Prepare. Participate.

Beyond is a spiritual journey for our entire church family. Over the coming months, we are inviting every person at Lakeside to seek God together about how we can faithfully steward this moment for generations to come.

Our goal is for 100% participation—not equal gifts but equal willingness to prayerfully engage, seek God, and faithfully respond however He leads.

You can:

• Engage fully in weekend gatherings and upcoming Beyond experiences.

• Be in God’s Word, and set aside time for the daily devotions found in your Journey Guide.

• Begin conversations as a family about generosity, stewardship, and faith.

• Ask God what role He wants you to play through sacrificial giving to help more people encounter Jesus and flourish in His church for generations to come.

• Attend church on November 15—Commitment Sunday—with open hands and open hearts, ready to faithfully respond to whatever God places before them. And if you’re ready to lead the charge and set an example, attend Advance Commitment Night on October 25.

• Pray regularly for wisdom, unity, and God’s leadership throughout this season.

• Be a voice of faith, encouragement, and unity by helping others navigate questions and concerns with wisdom, grace, and trust in what God is doing.

• Learn more about the vision by asking questions and staying informed.
