HSM Serve Day: Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services
High schoolers - join us as we start off Spring Break by serving our community in need. We'll head to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services to work in their warehouse, preparing food for those in need throughout Sacramento County.
Students will carpool to the food bank and will be provided lunch. Please arrive at Lakeside by 10:45pm. Students will return around 4:00pm. Please print and bring the completed wavier to the event.
A few other things to note:
Volunteers must wear closed-toe and closed-heeled shoes. Tennis shoes, boots, or sneakers are ideal —no Crocs, strap-backs, slippers, or sandals. No part of the toe or heel can be exposed. The warehouse is not climate-controlled and may be very cool or warm, depending on the outdoor temperature. Please dress accordingly.
All volunteers must be age 10 and up.
Masks are optional.
Please also dress in comfortable clothing that is okay to get dirty.
Please leave purses or backpacks at home or in the car.
Please bring your water bottle with a lid.
High School Parent Meeting
Parents of incoming 8th-12th graders! Join us for lunch and a meeting about HSM and the upcoming year! You'll hear about camps, small groups, HSM Sundays, and the summer schedule. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the ministry.
Please register to let us know how many people will be in attendance so we can order the proper amount of food.
If your student is remaining on campus during the meeting, they can hangout in the Block Auditorium.
HSM After Party
Join us at In-N-Out after our HSM Sunday gathering for burgers, fries, and shakes! We’ll hang out until 9:00 PM.
Students are responsible for their own transportation and food. Parents are welcome to join!
High School Summer Camp
Join us for CIY Move this summer!
We’re heading to Biola University in Southern California for an incredible week of faith and fun! Students will have access to Biola’s top-notch athletic and recreation facilities, including tennis courts, a turf field, and lighted outdoor courts for basketball and sand volleyball. For those who love games beyond sports, there will be plenty of opportunities for group competitions, games, and late-night hangouts. Amid all the excitement, they’ll engage in unique programs featuring amazing speakers designed to deepen their faith and foster lasting friendships.
Students will depart from the Block at 6:30am on Monday, July 14th. The roadtrip will include a brief stop for lunch. Students will return around 4:00pm on Saturday, July 19th.

HSM Sundays
Find a place to grow in your faith and friendships at HSM (High School Ministry). We learn from the Bible, hang out, play games, and make lifelong memories. Meet in The Block Sundays at 6pm.
HSM Dodge the Dark
Join us for Dodge the Dark—a glow-in-the-dark dodgeball night packed with fun, friends, and flying neon dodgeballs! We’ll have pizza, glow-in-the-dark paint, and plenty of epic battles under the blacklights. Come to HSM and stick around for the glow-up!
High School Winter Retreat
High schoolers, get ready for an unforgettable Winter Retreat in Santa Cruz this February!
We'll spend the weekend at Camp Santa Cruz, packed with games, worship, and beach fun. Plus, on Saturday, we’re heading to the iconic Santa Cruz Boardwalk for rollercoasters and arcade games! You won't want to miss this exciting weekend getaway!

Registration covers travel, meals at camp, and lodging. Be sure to bring spending money for Saturday’s lunch at the Boardwalk, and you can also pre-purchase a ride wristband for the day.

HSM is a welcoming place for high schoolers to engage with connect with others, have fun, and have the opportunity to dive deeper into their faith. We meet Sunday evenings at 6pm in The Block on the Lakeside campus. We’ll see you there!
4Folsom
We are on mission to show the love of God to our community! On the 4th Sunday of every month, we encourage everyone—kids, students, and adults— to join forces and each give $4 “4Folsom!”
HSM Midweek
Join us for HSM Midweek, where high schoolers connect with their small groups every Wednesday night from 7–8:30pm, starting January 15!
These groups offer an opportunity to grow deeper in your faith, build authentic friendships, and explore life’s big questions in a safe, welcoming space. Whether church has always been part of your journey or you’re just beginning to explore faith, there’s a place for you here! Groups are separated by grade and gender and will meet in The Block at Lakeside.

HSM Skate Night
High schoolers, bundle up and get ready to hit the ice for a night of skating fun! Whether you're an experienced skater or stepping onto the ice for the first time, come glide, laugh, and make some cool winter memories with friends!
Cost: $20
Please arrive at the Historic Folsom Ice Rink at 5:45pm. Participants must bring the waiver to the event (also in the confirmation email).
High School All Nighter
The High School All Nighter is Here!
Get ready for an unforgettable night of fun on November 10 and 11! Starting at 8pm, students will kick off the night with an epic adventure, as we head to Scandia Fun Center, Rebounderz Trampoline Arena, and Country Club Lanes/Laser X.
A late-night dinner will be provided around midnight, and students can purchase additional snacks, candy, drinks, and merch at each stop along the way. We'll wrap up the night with a pancake breakfast back at Lakeside before students are released at 6am. Trust us—this is one night you won’t want to miss!

High schoolers, join us for a special night of worship just for you! Gather under the stars with friends as we worship Jesus together in a vibrant and meaningful time of worship and community.

HSM SLAMFEST
High Schoolers, stick around after HSM for Slamfest! Get ready for an epic night featuring a dunk contest, where you can show off your best moves for a chance to win a brand-new DeMar DeRozan jersey! Whether you’re competing or cheering from the sidelines, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Wear your favorite sports jersey and be sure to invite a friend for a night of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition.

HSM Climb Night
High schoolers are taking over Granite Arch Climbing Center!
We will have dinner at 6pm at Lakeside before heading over to Granite Arch for an entire evening of rock climbing. Participants will spend time in the Adventure Playground, become Belay Certified, and climb! Both Top Rope and Boulder climbs will be available.
Cost: $50
All participants must have a completed Waiver to enter the facility. (Upon registration, look for the waiver in your confirmation email.)

HSM Summer Campout
June 17-22
High schoolers won't want to miss this favorite week of the year! Campout at Camp Alta is a life-changing week, with meaningful conversations at night by firepits, incredible teaching from a speaker who will inspire students to model their lives after Jesus, and impactful time with small groups to help deepen and form their faith. There's also LOTS of time for swimming, archery tag, 9-Square, and volleyball, plus an awesome lake day for boating and paddle boarding!

HSM Summer Kickoff
High schoolers—including new freshman—are invited to join us on the Hillside Lawn for our Summer Kickoff at our new HSM gathering time, Sundays, 6-7:30pm! We’ll celebrate all things summer with food, fun, and an incredible slip-and-slide competition!
Summer Blitz Volunteer Training
All our wonderful Summer Blitz volunteers— adults, high schoolers, and LITs—are asked to attend this mandatory training. You'll get a sneak peak at what the campers will be learning about and find out important need-to-knows for keeping kiddos engaged, happy, and safe. You will also receive training for your specific volunteer area and pick up your Summer Blitz T-shirt.

Move-up Sunday
Starting Memorial Day weekend—May 26—kids and students will be moving up to the grade that they will enter into in the fall.
Incoming 1st graders will move into our 1st-2nd classroom in Kids Room 6,
Incoming 3rd graders will move into our 3rd-5th grade classroom upstairs in The Block.
Incoming 6th graders will promote to Middle School Ministry (MSM) at 10:45am downstairs in The Block.
Incoming 9th graders will move to High School Ministry (HSM) beginning Sunday, June 2 at The Block.
HSM Homework Help
High schoolers, need some help with your homework, projects, and assignments? Come to Homework Help where you’ll receive valuable assistance from our volunteers—many of whom are current and former educators and who specialize in math, science, and English. We’ll provide some light snacks and a great atmosphere for getting those assignments done well! No registration or cost.

HSM My City Youth Conference
Friday, March 1– Saturday, March 2
Come join Lakeside HSM as we join the My City Youth Conference! We’ll encounter God’s transforming power, love, and presence through incredible music, and lifechanging Scripture-based teaching! After the Friday night session, we’ll head back to The Block for more games and fun, and we’ll spend the night in a lock-in. Then we’ll get breakfast and head back to the conference for another full day of growth!
Here’s what conference organizers hope students gain: “Our hearts desire to see young people touched by the power of God, be discipled in the Word of God, and find their place in the family of God. Our goal is that in our time together, youth would have a fire ignited within them that cannot be extinguished and that they would give themselves wholeheartedly to the cause of Christ in the earth.”

HSM Redefine Grace Anxiety Study
This group is for any high schooler who is struggling with anxiety, depression, or stress. We’ll learn helpful insights and tools to manage stressors and discover how to renew our faith and rest in God’s grace through both scriptural and psychological lenses. Lunch will be provided. Cost: $15 for the book.
HSM Bonfire Night
High schoolers, kick off 2024 with a bonfire, smores, games, acoustic worship, and a chance to invite God into this next year! No registration needed.
HSM Skate Night
High schoolers, enjoy a night of skating and ‘smores with friends at the Historic Folsom Ice Rink! We have reserved fire pits for a warm place to hang out and for making ‘smores when taking a break from the rink. Invite a friend, and we hope to see you there!

HSM Serve Day at the Food Bank
High schoolers, come serve at the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank’s Thanksgiving outreach and show the love of Jesus!
Meet at 10:15am at the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank at 6483 Main Ave, Orangevale, CA 95662. Students will need to provide their own transportation. Our volunteer shift goes from 10:30am-noon. Afterward, students are welcome to join Aaron and the rest of the team for lunch at Dairy Queen, 9295 Greenback Ln, Orangevale, CA 95662.

HSM All-Nighter
It’s time for the annual All-Nighter—an incredible eleven hours of hanging out with friends for an entire night of high-energy action . Get ready to ride the Screamer at Scandia, jump the night away at Sky Zone, and hang out at Country Club Lanes for unlimited bowling, arcade, and laser tag. Our hope is that by the time the sun rises, you’ve created memories, invested in friendships—both new and old—and found deeper connections with each other and with your high school leaders.
