We will be hiking to Avery Pond in the Newcastle/Loomis area on the Pioneer Express Trail along the upper reaches of Folsom Lake. The hike is an out-and-back hike, about 8.5 miles, with rolling hills and several good climbs, along with varied vegetation and some nice views. You should be an experienced hiker and in good shape to join us on this hike. Click HERE for a description.
Time: Meet at 7am at Lakeside in the front parking lot; we should be back to Lakeside by about 11:30am.
Transportation: As with other Lakeside hikes, we will carpool. When RSVPing, please let us know if you can drive and how many people you can take, in addition to yourself. It's about a 20-25 minute drive to the trailhead.
