Interest Meeting: Wednesday, Feb. 1: 6:30–8pm
Mission Trip: June 17–26
Join the Lakeside team traveling to Cambodia this summer to encourage and support the staff of Agape International Missions (AIM) in Cambodia. AIM works to rescue, heal, and empower survivors of sex trafficking, while also protecting the most vulnerable.
AIM is making a big impact in Cambodia and has rescued more than 1,600 survivors—about 40 percent of whom are minors—and assisted in the arrest of 500 traffickers. Through transitional homes, restoration homes, and an employment center, survivors are loved, valued, and equipped for a new life of freedom. The organization also runs a kid’s club and a school to prevent the exploitation of at-risk future generations. Lakeside’s mission team will have the opportunity to engage with children at the kid’s club. AIM also runs a church to spread the love of Christ throughout the community, which has even led to traffickers shutting down their brothels.
