We still need 20 more people to register for our blood drive! We have a goal of collecting 20 pints, which means we need to have about 30 donors.
Blood donations are essential to fighting COVID-19, and your blood could help save lives. Vitalant will be setting up a portable, state-of-the-art blood donation center in our Main Auditorium. We have a goal of collecting 20 pints, which means we need to have about 30 donors. Click below to make your appointment.
Antibody Testing: Vitalant is now testing all blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies, and, if eligible, you will be asked to see if you'd also like to provide a plasma donation to help COVID-19 patients.
Whole Blood or Power Red Donations: You can schedule either a Whole Blood donation or a Power Red donation. The most common blood components transfused to patients are red cells. When you give a Power Red (also called double red) donation, you double the impact of your donation because you are giving two units of red cells. Click HERE to learn more about donating Power Reds.
For your donation:
* If you’ve received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, there is no deferral for blood donation as long as you can identify which vaccine you’ve received. If you’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine that is not Pfizer or Moderna then donors are deferred from donating blood for two weeks after they’ve received the vaccine.
* Please bring a photo I.D.
* A mask or face covering is required.
* Eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of water prior to donation (two to three 8 ounce bottles of water two hours before donating).
* 16 year old’s must have a signed Vitalant parent consent form. Click HERE for parent consent form
* For eligibility questions call Vitalant at 866-822-5663 or click HERE for a list of basic requirements.
* Blood drive will take place in Lakeside’s Main Auditorium.
Walk-ins will be accommodated if space allows, but appointments are highly recommended to help comply with social distancing.
Thank you for being a blood donor and helping to save lives with us!
