WHAT IS ADVENT?
For most of us, Advent probably means counting down the days to Christmas with a chocolate candy calendar. But the season of Advent is actually a sacred time of joyfully anticipating something extraordinary—the birth of Jesus. It’s a way to center the whole Christmas season on Jesus, preparing our hearts for celebrating the coming King.

This year at Lakeside, we’ll be focusing our December gatherings around the season of Advent and its four themes of: hope, peace, joy, and love. We are also encouraging you to observe Advent in your own homes, and we’ll have resources available to help.

ADVENT RESOURCES
Beginning at our November 19 gatherings, we’ll have devotionals for kids and adults as well as “Advent Blocks” available for purchase here and in our Lobby to help you and your family make Advent a meaningful time. Online purchases may be picked up in our Lobby on Sundays until Nov 26. Together, let’s be intentional in preparing our hearts and making the entire Christmas season about Jesus.
