It’s time for our Winter Hike to Avery Pond in the Newcastle/Loomis area. This out-and-back hike has rolling terrain, some nice views, and some varied vegetation along the trail.

TRAIL INFO: We will be hiking to Avery Pond on the “Pioneer Express Trail” along the upper reaches of Folsom Lake. The hike is an out-and-back, about 10 miles roundtrip, with rolling hills and several good climbs. You should be an experienced hiker and in good shape to join us on this hike. TIME/TRANSPORTATION: Meet at Lakeside at 7am to carpool to the trailhead.
