Blitz Offering Will Assist Kids of WAY Ministries

Our Summer Blitz campers have the awesome opportunity to help children on the other side of the world get to enjoy some things that are part of everyday life in Folsom. Each year at Blitz, campers are invited to bring a daily offering. This year’s Blitz offering will go to Way Ministries’ free Christian Montessori nursery and primary school in Malawi, Africa.

The school serves orphans and 74 of the nation’s most disadvantaged children. The camp offering will be used to purchase PE and playground equipment and desks for the school.

The Summer Blitz offering project teaches campers about blessing others, with the added fun of competition! Two teams go head to head—boys versus girls—to see which team's bucket of change weighs down a giant balance scale.

Maribeth Sexton of WAY Ministries is thrilled that Blitz campers are blessing the school's kids. The organization recently restored a building for their school, but it is just a building right now—with no desks or chairs or outdoor play equipment. The Blitz offering will help remedy that.

Maribeth and WAY Ministries work with children, families, and teachers in a multi-faceted program in Malawi to serve and love children, impact the nation’s education, and demonstrate a biblical model of teaching and development. In addition to the free school, WAY Ministries' programs include:

- Private Christian Montessori school (90 children)

- Montessori teacher training and special needs teacher training (350 this year)

- Physical therapy and spiritual encouragement for families of children with physical disabilities (21 families)

- Educational Scholarship program (35 kids)
