Mission Partner Update: Trafficking Prevention Group in India

More than 60,000 children go missing every year in India, the majority attributed to sex trafficking. Lakeside partners with a group in India (name withheld for safety purposes) that exists to put a stop to the generational cycle of sex trafficking and enslaved bonded labor. The organization supports 750 children in fifteen villages.

Lakeside sponsors the village of Pacheswan, helping to pay for the organization’s after-school program and building for fifty children. Previously in a leased building, the program is now about a month away from moving into its own land and new building (pictured in the image above).

Through the after-school program, kids get to eat, take part in activities, have access to tutors, and learn about Jesus. The ministry also opens the door for staff to work with kids’ parents, introduce them to the gospel, and empower them to break the cycle of bondage for their children.

The organization takes a preventative approach to rescuing children and is currently working with the parents of the two, twelve-year old girls pictured here.

These girls are set to soon begin “dancing,” which is the gateway into trafficking. Please specifically pray that Chandini and Anjali are not forced into a life of slavery and trafficking.

To get an idea of the environment Chandini and Anjali are being raised in and to see why your prayer and support are so vital, please watch the video below.
