Powerhouse Ministries: Grand Opening of New Facility
This weekend marks the grand opening of Powerhouse Ministries’ new Women’s and Children’s Center—a 4,500 square-foot residential center with the capacity for forty residents, double the previous capacity.
Each of the center’s thirteen bedrooms is named after a major donor, and Lakeside is honored to have a room named in honor of our church. The Lakeside community came together and gave an offering of nearly $40,000 at Christmas for two of our local mission partners, and Powerhouse received half of that offering for their new center.
“I want women to see the names of the churches and groups that are for them and know they have people who have invested in them and are rooting and praying for them,” said Powerhouse Ministries founder Nancy Atchley.
The community came together in a major way to help the organization raise funds for the $3.2 million project. With credit to God, partners, and donors, the building is fully paid for, and Powerhouse is now solely raising funds for the increased operating costs.
Powerhouse is a no-cost, two-year residential recovery program providing women the opportunity to leave addiction, abuse, and homelessness behind. It’s one of the top programs in the country and has a 91% success rate.
Tour their new facility and hear the transformational stories of Powerhouse graduates’ addiction and recovery. Sign up for a guided tomorrow, Saturday, May 15, between 10am-5pm. Also take a look at their registry and help them furnish the center with new household items.
