VYBE Q&A!

Lakeside is gearing up to host the Folsom VYBE music festival on our  field. Find out more about VYBE from Todd Speelman of ST Productions—who is producing the event—and Lisa Tuter of Twin Lakes Food Bank—the beneficiary of the festival’s proceeds.

What can guests expect at Folsom VYBE?

Todd: This isn’t your neighborhood plaza concert—this is a full-scale production, showcasing seven bands and featuring Colony House and Switchfoot. No matter your taste in music, there is something for everyone of all ages. Whether you’re a consistent live music person or if it’s been a while, this is for you.

What is your goal for VYBE?

Todd: Our ultimate goal is to raise as much money as we can for Folsom’s Twin Lakes Food Bank (TLFB). The other side of it is to bring together an event that is really needed in our community. Music brings people together,  so why not make it big and bring in national artists and make a statement!

How will the event proceeds benefit TLFB?

Lisa: Inflation is causing numbers to go up at the food bank, and we are now serving about 2,000 people a month. The regular, weekly services we provide now cost us more, so we appreciate the generosity in helping us fund our weekly grocery distribution to guests, as well as mobile services to low-income and housebound seniors. And if there’s a surplus, it would be wonderful to buy a new freezer or repair our roof.

 How can people get involved?

Todd: Attend and volunteer! This is a major production and it takes a lot of people to make it happen. Volunteers get a free shirt and free admission and can say they were a part of it!

Lisa: The event is a wonderful opportunity to raise money to help us serve clients in crisis. It can’t happen without volunteers working the event!
