My wife, Donna, and I love Folsom and love Lakeside Church. We started Lakeside in 1987 using a telemarketing strategy. That’s not completely crazy, but it did launch us on a crazy journey of serving Jesus in this community and region.
Before coming to Folsom, we served in the Philippines, and in churches in Portland, Oregon, and Scotts Valley, California.
We are the proud parents of three grown kids—and now two sons-in-law. And in the future, grandkids?
When not at “work” I play as much as possible. I love softball and golf—and I’m better at one than the other. I blog infrequently. I enjoy amateur photographer status. I’ve jumped out of a plane that was not on fire and I’ve piloted an ultralight aircraft—and I’d like to do one of those things again.
My favorite aspect of leading in the church is preaching, or what I call story-telling. Jesus is a master story-teller—I aspire to be like him in this. I believe God’s calling in my life is to tell his story and the story of his church in this world.
